Information Session: Preparing the Public for Extreme Heat

This 1-hour information session will feature presentations from various organizations collaborating to enhance public messaging and improve health outcomes during extreme heat events in Wisconsin. Presenters include the Wisconsin Heat Health Network, Milwaukee County Office of Emergency Management, City of Milwaukee Health Department, Wisconsin Department of Health Services, UW-Madison graduate students, and climatologist Dr. Larry Kalkstein. You are invited to attend this free event if you’d like to learn more on this topic.

Event Details:

This event is part of UW-Madison’s State Tour commemorating 175 years! Other highlights include:

  • Samples of Babcock ice cream (including a special commemorative flavor) served out of a specially designed 175th-anniversary ice cream truck
  • Complimentary appetizers
  • Family-friendly activities, giveaways, and games
  • A chance to win tickets to a Wisconsin Badgers home football game by taking a UW-themed quiz
  • A photo booth sporting an iconic UW–Madison backdrop
