Human Trafficking After a Disaster – Virtual Training

The American Red Cross of Wisconsin will be hosting a virtual training opportunity that may be of interest to you or your organization. Please share with your colleagues if you think they would find value in this training.

On January 29, 2026, at 2:00 PM CST, Red Crosser mental health lead Naomi Berkowitz will offer a training titled “Human Trafficking After a Disaster.” While this session is designed for Red Cross Disaster Cycle Services responders, it is highly relevant for partners and collaborators who work with disaster-impacted populations.

This training will:

  • Provide an overview of human trafficking and how it increases following disasters
  • Address both sex trafficking and labor trafficking
  • Review warning signs to watch for
  • Discuss how to respond safely and appropriately to protect clients from harm

The presentation will last approximately one hour, with an additional 30 minutes reserved for questions and discussion.

Please note: this session will not be recorded.
