Extreme Weather & Its Impact on Your Home Value, Your Neighborhood & Your Wallet

This webinar is being shared for awareness by a COAD member in case others are interested:
No matter where you live, it’s impossible to ignore the headlines about extreme weather – events that are increasingly reaching every corner of the United States – from Hurricane Helene in 2024, to the Los Angeles wildfires and the Texas floods in 2025. After the initial shock of a disaster, when the cameras go away, residents are left facing continuing challenges. The affordability of repairs, availability (or lack) of temporary housing and construction workers, dealing with insurance, and falling home values can all make recovery even harder than it seems.
This webinar will help you learn about the ways extreme weather is affecting the cost of homeownership and what climate change has to do with it. Led by our Senior Environment, Climate and Energy Editor, Stacy Morford, this conversation with experts will discuss rising insurance and rebuilding costs, the effects on neighborhood home values and availability, and what you can do to be prepared for the future.
