Disaster Case Work (DCW) Volunteer Training – August 2025 Flood Recovery

Looking for a meaningful way to support flood recovery in Southeast Wisconsin?

In August 2025, historic flooding across Southeast Wisconsin affected thousands of households, many of whom continue to recover.

Volunteer Disaster Case Workers (DCWs) support this effort by calling impacted households to check in and gather basic information about current needs.

No prior disaster response experience is required. Training and guidance will be provided by the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) Wisconsin Conference.

Who should consider volunteering?

If you are seeking experience in disaster recovery and are comfortable making phone calls and documenting information, we welcome your involvement. Participation is remote and hours are flexible. No prior disaster or casework experience is required.

This is a meaningful way to support disaster recovery and help ensure households who asked for help do not fall through the cracks.
